Review of Clash of Kings (Book #2 in Game of Thrones series)

Summary- After the death of King Robert and Eddard Stark the world is in chaos. Joffery sits on the iron throne but rumor has spread that he is not actually Robert’s son but a Bastard born of incest between his mother and Uncle.

Both of Robert’s brothers have declared themselves King. Robb Stark has declared himself King of the North. Daenerys is waiting for her dragons to mature before she also goes after the Iron Throne.

My rating A

I love the Game of thrones television series. And, I really enjoyed this book. I actually enjoyed it significantly more than the first book.

The first book followed the show very closely. I felt this book added more depth to the characters and didn’t follow the show quite as exactly as the previous book had.

This book is very very long so be prepared for an intense read. I am currently trying to read the books past the series because I think I will enjoy them more. At the moment I often feel like there isn’t necessary suspense (like when the fate of the youngest Starks is uncertain because of Theon Greyjoy.)

I hope to read the next two books before the series restarts back up. I am really looking forward to seeing what fate awaits my fav  Jon Snow,Tyrion, and Daenerys.

I also really want to see who ends up on the Iron Throne (My vote is Daenerys because she is so kindhearted and because a woman who can hatch dragons and nurse them at her breasts really deserves to rule the land.)
